Chef / Owner Steve Karu has created a culinary masterpiece at Piccolo restorante situated in the heart of Summerhill. Having opened almost 2 years ago, Chef Steve serves up rustic Italian food that’s both simple and refined. A beautiful 30 seat interior with candle lit tables and smooth soft lighting creates the perfect ambience for you and yours to enjoy. A 20 seat private dining room is also available for special occasions along with a prix fixe menu if required. Some of the popular choices at Piccolo include grilled calamari served on a field of greens, drizzled with a reduced balsamic sauce. For a lighter starter, the chef offers a baby arugula and grilled radicchio salad cascaded with warmed Ontario goats’ cheese. Standout entrees include Piccolos famous Lamb shank; braised for hours and served with a red wine and pan dripping sauce - absolutely phenomenal. Classic pastas and risottos are also offered, including a wild mushroom risotto drizzled with truffle oil. Piccolo’s wine list is a pleasure for the connoisseur, with a variety of Amarones, Merlots and a Toronto favourite, Butterfield Station’s cab sav.
