History of St. Lawrence Market

In 1803, Governor Peter Hunter issued a proclamation that all the land located north of Front Street, west of Jarvis, Toronto Eventsth of King Street and east of Church street was to be officially designated as the "Market Block."

St. Lawrence market's Toronto Eventsth Market, was Toronto's original City Hall. The history of the Toronto Eventsth St. Lawrence Market also includes the north "farmer's market" and St. Lawrence Hall as well.
