Toronto Restaurant Review

Drive far enough north on Yonge and you’ll pass a non-descript strip mall in which is housed some of the tastiest, most affordable Thai food imaginable. Royal Orchard Thai Cuisine is located a little north of Steeles, just off Yonge, on Royal Orchard Blvd.

I was recommended to this restaurant by a certain person who swears by the Royal Orchard peanut sauce. I decided to visit the restaurant on a sunny Saturday afternoon and ordered the Satay (both beef and chicken), Pad Thai (chicken) and Cashew Nut Chicken. Alright, I admit it, I like chicken.

First to arrive was the Satay. Both the beef and chicken meat was tender and full of flavour. Then there was the peanut sauce. While I could provide an entire review of how tasty this peanut sauce was, let’s just say I’ve not eaten finer sauce. In my life. We’ll leave it at that.

The Pad Thai was quite tasty and featured perfectly cooked noodles. While the Cashew Nut Chicken served up a flavourful concoction of chicken, cashew nuts, sweet pepper, carrot. chili and pineapple, I found it much more enjoyable to dip the chicken, and pretty much everything else, into the aforementioned peanut sauce.

The best part? The whole thing cost about $30, with tip, for the 2 of us. The service was friendly, polite and prompt, while the newly redecorated atmosphere was easy on the eyes. All in all, a great dining experience and well worth the drive to Thornhill.

Overall: Okay, forget everything I said and just go to try the peanut sauce
