Toronto Restaurant Review

Trattoria Fieramosca
36A Prince Arthur Ave
Toronto, ON
M5R 1A9

It’s truly a treat to visit a longtime staple in Toronto’s fine dining market. With that being said, we here at Restaurant Guide Toronto were pleased-as-punch to discover an upcoming dinner engagement at Trattoria Fieramosca. Offering guests a tasty selection of wonderfully prepared and presented Italian dishes, Fieramosca never fails to impress.

Trattoria Fieramosca is tucked away on Prince Arthur Avenue in a beautiful building, featuring a patio surrounded by lush greenery and flowers. Originally, the Fieramosca was found on Avenue Road and in 1996 moved operations to their current Yorkville location. Since the restaurants opening in 1980, it has received Zagat awards and delighted the taste buds of Toronto’s most discerning mouths.

On this visit, we ordered Scaloppina Cleopatra (a personal favourite), Agnello Alla Griglia and kicked the meal off with the Carpaccio Di Alba appetizer. Inside the restaurant you’ll find a warm and comfortable atmosphere highlighted by a gorgeous tile floor and dark wood accents. After a glass of wine and some conversation, the Carpaccio Di Alba arrived. The beef was perfectly marinated and was accompanied by arugula, parmigiano, lemon and olive oil. A delicious start indeed.

Our well presented dinner arrived and I dug straight into my Scaloppina Cleopatra, which is a tender veal scaloppine served with shrimps and mushrooms in a tomato and white wine sauce. The veal was perfectly cooked and accented nicely by the steamed vegetables. The Agnello Alla Griglia (grilled lampchops with steamed vegetables) melted as soon as they touched the tongue and again, was cooked to perfection.

Service was extremely pleasant, prompt and welcoming. We opted out of desert, but do highly recommend the lemon sorbet paired with a shot of lemoncello. All in all, Fieramosca serves up some of the tastiest Italian flavours in all of Toronto.

Overall: Expect the fine dining prices, but worry not, it’s money well spent.
